Leg 5 highlights - Peter Auto

Leg 5 highlights

It’s a big day for the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo cavalcade or rather the home straight! The final leg began this morning and the competitors set off for the iconic Paul-Ricard circuit where they could show the true performance of their cars on the 3.8-km track. The day, though, was far from over and the crews hit the road again and crossed the Fayence countryside before passing under the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo arch for the last time in Nice this year on the Promenade des Anglais. It was the end of this 2021 anniversary edition in which victory in the competition category went to Christophe Van Riet and Eric Werner in Shelby Cobra 289 for the competition grid as well as Marc and Thomas Jay in Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF for the regularity grid. Congratulations to them but above all congratulations to all the participants, partners and spectators for continuing to bring this beautiful rally to life!

After rain the good weather. The sun escorted the whole caravan from the start of this last day. One that was open with a special on the Paul Ricard circuit during which the Matra MS 650 S was able to deploy all its capabilities, especially in the straight line of the mistral but also on other portions of the circuit where the pilot showed a magnificent driving style.

Direction the specials on closed roads, two of them were on the program for the day. Last opportunities for pilots and their mounts to prove themselves.
